Waveguide Pressurization System

The Low Altitude Navigation Targetting InfraRed for Night (LANTIRN) system comprises two pods which mount on F-16 and F-15 aircraft. Since 1987, Carleton has supplied more than 600 waveguide pressurization systems for the LANTIRN navigation pod. Our system provides low pressure nitrogen to the radar system in the pod, which creates an inert environment to eliminate electrostatic discharge inside the waveguide.

Features of the system include:

• Pressure vessel
• Pressure regulator
• High and low pressure switches
• Solenoid valve
• Schrader-type fill valve
• Manifold which integrates all components
